What are you longing for?

Last month I prayed for a person who was suffering acute anxiety about Brexit. The cool part of course was that Jesus freed her from it, but she emerged from that time with light in her eyes and a new sense of purpose to be one of His harvesters, one of His Ambassadors ready to go out and minister the same peace to others ‘ for such a time as this.’ (Esther 4:14).

“…longing for the actual soil we walk on to produce an abundance that is characteristic of the kingdom of heaven, so that anyone living or working on it can thrive and enjoy life to the full.”

The patriarchs of our faith from the Old Testament also had plenty of anxiety of their own to deal with, but their approach was to live like strangers in the world, ‘longing for a better country – a heavenly one’ (Hebrews 11:6).  As you read those words, what might you be longing for? For me I long for those I love to encounter the life changing love of Jesus. I am also longing for the actual soil we walk on to produce an abundance that is characteristic of the kingdom of heaven, so that anyone living or working on it can thrive and enjoy life to the full.

We long for the ‘better country’ to be established here on earth, and at such a time as this, when our communities across the South Downs, just like any other in the UK, are being pressurised by division and disagreement, the Father is calling the intercessors to come to Him and believe for that awakening to happen now!
